Bertini Drills

Bertini has been designing and constructing Direct Drills since 1980 and is a world leader in Direct Drill construction.

Technically Unique......

All farmers know that drilling begins with the appropriate treatment of last years stubble. That's why when it comes to choosing a Direct Drill, one must look closely at how it deals with the previous years crop residue. A good Direct Drill seed crop is determined by 2 key factors:

  1. adequate seed depth
  2. perfect soil to seed contact

The Agricultural Revolution of the New Millenium

Offering a great reduction in cost; high drilling velocity; low HP requirement; great precision in seed distribution; perfect depth control and therefore high germination rates.
The technique operates by not moving the soil. A cutting disc (turbo) penetrates 8-10cm preparing a macro seed bed. The disc is accompanied by two cleaning skates that not only clean the disc but also push down the stubble thus making a clean cut. A double disc deposits the seed in the newly created seed bed. A seed firmer pushes the seed to the bottom of the line, ensuring an excellent contact with the soil. Two orbital wheels next to the double disc control the seed depth. A set of indented metal wheels, closes the seed line while a small insecticide box (i.e. slug pellets) administers a precise dosage in the seed line.

Model 22.000

The Bertini model 22 thousand is the most advanced machine on the market for drilling on stubbles and on difficult terrain. Its seed-train performs the different stages like no other!

The UK version of the Bertini Drill has a single seed hopper for cereals, with an 81 speed gearbox, and a two hoppers, one for rape and one for slug pellets, both with a 9 speed gearbox (18 gears with high/low). Each hopper is independant in the seed train thus enabling the hoppers to discharge correctly. This not only optimises seed germination, but also allows correct placing of the slug pellets therefore increasing overall efficiency. The Bertini drill system cuts costs by up to 70%.

In addition to its many features and in conjunction with traffic regulations, Bertini has designed a simple folding system. This switches the hydraulic command from drilling mode to transport mode and vice-versa.
